WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE GUA SHA AND FACIAL ROLLER?
The Gua Sha is more of a massage tool to aid in our facial lymphatic drainage, reducing muscle tension and puffiness. It works brilliantly for those who suffer from migraines or those who grind their teeth at night, waking up with constant headaches and a tense/sore jaw! With consistent use, the Gua Sha will help to lift and firm the skin, resulting in a much more radiant complexion (thanks to the natural healthy blood flow to the surface of the skin, stimulated by the Gua Sha tool).
We recommend applying a facial oil to the skin first to provide slip for the Gua Sha to easily glide across the skin (avoid tugging on dry skin). Follow through with the Facial Roller to calm and cool the skin down to complete the facial experience.
The Facial Roller is a beautiful, relaxing facial tool to use at home. Our Facial Rollers will give you that ‘at-home spa feeling’, without the expensive price tag! Facial Rollers will help relax, relieve tension in the face, calm and cool (the natural stone/crystal’s ability to keep cool on its own) the skin and aids in the body’s lymphatic system (helping to rid of toxins to help keep our skin clear and excess fluid that makes us puffy!).
You can also use our Facial Rollers with your skincare products. Roll over your favourite skin treats (like your serums, face masks and facial oils) to encourage better and faster product absorption, giving you an even better result!
For optimum results start with our Gua Sha to first relax the facial muscles, with a satisfying massage to help lift and firm. Then follow through with the Facial Roller to cool and calm the skin down (your skin may appear flushed after using the Gua Sha as it stimulates healthy blood flow to the surface of the skin!).
IS THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE ROSE QUARTZ AND JADE?
Both the Rose Quartz and Jade are popular here at Makooa. We focus on educating our customers on the benefits and qualities of each product to help you choose the perfect skin treat/s. The Rose Quartz and Jade both work the same to aid in facial lymphatic drainage, stimulate and increase the blood circulation to feed our skin cells with healthy oxygen and nutrients resulting in clearer and more radiant complexion.
Our customers typically choose them according to their colour preference and the beliefs behind the stone and crystal. The Jade stone is known for its healing properties. The term Jade refers to two different minerals-Nephrite and Jaedite (we use mainly Nephrite here at Makooa).
Nephrite works best with the heart chakra, amazing for the mind/body detox and protection against negative energies. The meaning of Jade is of purity, gentleness, and love. Its properties are to promote harmony, balance, protection and bring good luck.
The Rose Quartz crystal is known for its beautiful pale pink to deep pink in colour. Rose Quartz has a great healing quality to help release the pain and negative emotions from your heart. The meaning of Rose Quartz is the energy of love which helps to calm and heal. Amazing for those who practice self-love or those who are in committed relationships.
HOW DO I KNOW IF YOUR FACIAL TOOLS ARE AUTHENTIC AND OF HIGH QUALITY?
Here at Makooa, we have taken the time and effort to find and source genuine materials to make the perfect facial tools. Our tools are significantly heavier compared to others in the market, as they are made entirely out of stone and crystal (except the metal handles that hold everything together).
The Jade roller and Gua Sha is made of Nephrite Jade, and the Rose Quartz roller and Gua Sha are made of Rose Quartz crystal.
Other products in the market are made of low quality (which is why the prices are usually cheaper) materials and are made of plastic/glass that easily break. We believe our products should be of high quality, genuine materials that perform well (no squeaky noise when rolling) and not cost a fortune. HOW DO I STORE AND KEEP MY FACIAL TOOLS CLEAN?
Cleanliness and hygiene are super important to help keep our skin perform at its optimum level! After each use, wipe the surface of the tools with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth. We do not recommend soaking or rinsing the facial rollers under water as it may cause the metal handles to lose its shiny finish, and to ensure longevity of the tools.
You may also spray isopropyl alcohol onto the surface and wipe it clean with a soft cloth or tissue paper to disinfect your tools.
Our facial tools come with a luxurious silk storage pouch which will help keep your tools clean. Be sure to store your tools in a safe place to prevent them from falling onto hard ground and breaking.
Our facial tools are of genuine material, which means they can keep cool on their own. It is entirely up to you if you wish to store them in the fridge (NOT freezer). We recommend leaving them in the fridge for about 45 mins before use, so you get an even cooler sensation on the skin (perfect for those who easily flush or have irritable/sensitive skin).
HOW DO I USE MY FACIAL ROLLER AND GUA SHA?
We’ve created a simple step by step guide for the Facial Roller and Gua Sha, complete with instructional pictures (including great tips) for you here!
ARE THERE ANY PRECAUTIONS I NEED TO BE AWARE OF FOR THE FACIAL TOOLS?
Whilst our facial tools are safe and easy to perform, we want to make sure you’re getting the best out of your tools without any complications! There are just two things you need to be cautious of when performing a Gua Sha facial massage.
HOW OFTEN DO I USE MY FACIAL ROLLER AND GUA SHA?
Like most things, consistency is key! To achieve and see great results, we recommend using the tools at least 3-5 times a week. It’s entirely up to you if you choose to use them both daily. Using them day or night is also up to you!
Just make sure you use a facial oil or facial cream to provide good slip for the Gua Shua (you don’t want it to tug on your skin). Start with the Gua Sha facial massage first then follow through with the facial roller to calm and cool the skin down (remember it is normal for your skin to appear flushed after using the Gua Sha as the tool stimulates/increases blood flow to the surface of the skin).
